No. Random Rec includes beginners, experienced players, competitive players, experimental builds and people who simply do not have a full squad online. The key is adapting to strangers instead of expecting five-person coordination immediately.
No. A microphone can help with switches and late-game decisions, but predictable spacing, quick passes and responsible defense communicate plenty. If you use a mic, keep communication useful.
The point guard should usually receive a fair opportunity to initiate, but the best decision-maker or matchup may change during the game. Position labels should organize the team, not trap it.
It can be. Passing up open shots, refusing to attack advantages or moving the ball without threatening the defense can make offense easier to guard. Good team basketball includes decisive scoring.
Cut when the paint is open, your defender loses sight of you and the passer has an angle. Avoid cutting through a teammate’s drive, post-up or existing cut.
Not automatically. Inside centers can screen, roll, finish, rebound and protect the rim. The challenge is maintaining useful spacing and avoiding permanent paint congestion.
Ordinary bad play is part of Random Rec. Quitting early usually makes the experience worse for everyone left behind. Intentional harassment or sabotage is different; use platform safety tools when necessary.
Selling is intentional sabotage: deliberately taking violations, refusing to defend, throwing the ball away, abusing timeouts or otherwise trying to make the team lose. Missing shots and making normal mistakes are not automatically selling.
There is no correct equal number. Shot distribution should follow open looks, matchups, roles and game flow. Everybody should remain involved enough to matter, but equal opportunity does not mean identical attempts.
Space, defend, rebound, screen selectively, cut at useful times and make quick decisions when the ball arrives. Staying playable increases the chance that trust—and touches—come later.
They may be trying to screen, ask for a pass or stay involved, but the result often crowds the action. Use short communication if possible and move the ball before frustration takes over.
